Hey there!

My name is Lee Sartori and I’m  the crochet designer behind CoCo Crochet Lee.  I am also the Assistant Editor of Happily Hooked Magazine, a popular publication for crochet enthusiasts. Along with my Editor position at Happily Hooked, I also run Happily Hooked’s Social Media Department which includes crochet alongs and LIVE weekly video chats (so much fun!). I can be seen as a guest host on Season 9 of the popular PBS Show Knit and Crochet Now, as well as a cast member of Annie’s Creative Studio where I demonstrates fun crochet skills and patterns. Supply List

YarnBerroco Comfort Chunky Bulky Weight (150 yds/100g):  1 skein Colour 5701 (cream), US Size G/6 (4.0mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, purse handle/strap of choice.

Key

Ch = chain

sc = single crochet

2-tr Cluster (2 treble crochet cluster) = *yo twice, insert hook into indicated st, yo and draw up a loop, [yo and draw through 2 loops] twice; repeat from * twice, yo and draw through remaining 3 loops on hook.

BLO (back loop only).

Gauge

4” = 22 rows x 20 sc.

Size

7” x 5”

Notes1. Beginning chain does not count as a st.

Pattern

Instructions:

Ch 31.

Row 1:  Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across, turn--30 sts.

Rows 2-22:  Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 23:  In BLO, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Rows 24-34:  Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 35:  Ch 1, sc 2, 2-tr Cluster in next, *sc 4, 2-tr Cluster in next; repeat from * across, turn--30 sts.

Rows 36-46:  Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 47:  Repeat Row 23.

Rows 48-58:  Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 59:  Repeat Row 35.

Rows 60-71:  Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.Do not fasten off, continue to Border.

Border

Round 1:  Ch 1, sc evenly across row ends until BLO row. Fold bottom panel upwards, and continue sc through both thicknesses to bottom. Sc evenly in FLO of bottom. Sc through both thicknesses of next side. Sc evenly across row ends to top. Join, fasten off and weave in ends.

Bottom

Cut twenty 20” pieces of yarn. Using two pieces at a time, loop them through bottom of purse evenly with 10 loops across.

Using two pieces of each loop, join with knots to adjacent loop as seen in photo.

Continue working knots as seen.

Trim access yarn.

Finishing

Weave in ends, add purse strap.

I designed this Amber Purse as a nod to my crochet bestie, Amber of Divine Debris because she’s so amazing, and I adore her.
