Double Take Tunisian Tank Crochet Pattern

Maker
6/30/2019

Hi friends! I'm Kayla, the maker behind Kay Krochets. I'd love to say I have an interesting story but I totally don't. I'm just your average butt wipin', slowly going insane, stay at home momma. I enjoy drinking strong, black coffee, taking long naps, exploring new places, snacking on peanut butter M&M's, and obviously crochet.

I've had a hook in my hand since 2016 and although I have created too many things to count, I'm still amazed that I'm able to transform a ball of yarn into something of use.  My favorite items to design are comfy, wearable garments. And the Double Take Tunisian Tank is just that! Comfy and wearable. You'll be able to throw it on and not worry about bra straps showing or boobs poppin' out. It's honestly my most worn, handmade garment yet and I hope you enjoy wearing it just as much as I do!

FINISHING

Using st markers, try on the garment and make adjustments where needed. Also, I personally think the RS and WS of this garment look great so you decide which side you want facing outward!

Step 1: with WS facing you, sew FRONT and BACK straps together

Step 2: with WS facing you, use the long tails or attach new yarn and sew down/up the sides

Step 3: sew on button

If you chose to have the RS of this garment showing, follow 1) instructions and if you chose to have the WS showing (like I did) follow 2) instructions

1)     with RS facing you, sew your button onto the second to last row of LEFT BACK and use the gap from the last st of RIGHT BACK for the button hole

2)     with WS facing you, sew your button onto the second to last row of RIGHT BACK and use the gap from the last st of LEFT BACK for the button hole

Step 4: Armhole Edging (optional)

Row 1: attach a new strand to the bottom of one of the armholes, tss around until there are no sts left (do not connect in the round), return pass

Row 2: f/o row and use the tail to sew the 2 rows together

Step 4: weave in all of the ends and block if desired

Voila!

You now have yourself a handmade, head-turning tank! I hope you like the design as much as I do! Don’t forget to use #kaykrochets hashtag and tag @kaykrochets on Instagram/Facebook so I can see your new, beautiful creation! Have a FANTABULOUS day and never forget that God loves you!
